Pokémon GO News: Niantic Announces Bans to All Cheaters

- in News

For all the real trainers out there, your wish has finally came true. Niantic has been making big moves these past couple weeks, with one of the biggest, today.

Niantic has announced it’s removal of botters, spoofers and cheaters alike with a short statement and a way to report them. Niantic is finally taking its community seriously. Here is the statement that was released:

Your account was permanently terminated for violations of the Pokémon GO Terms of Service. This includes, but is not limited to: falsifying your location, using emulators, modified or unofficial software and/or accessing Pokémon GO clients or backends in an unauthorized manner including through the use of third party software.

Our goal is to provide a fair, fun and legitimate game experience for everyone. We will continue to work with all of you to improve the quality of the gameplay, including ongoing optimization and fine tuning of our anti-cheat system. If you believe your account has been terminated in error incorrectly, you can appeal that termination through this form.  For privacy reasons, please do not post appeals on social media.

Now that Niantic is doing something about all this, it’s looking up for Pokémon GO in a big way! Please let us know what you think of Ninatic’s latest move in the comments.

Appreciative and hopeful it works. Not that I would not still play because I am dealing with the loss of my husband of 28 years to brain cancer at the age of 49 and this gives me time to walk off some emotions till they are a little more manageable. Md have something our grown children grew up with to bond with after a very traumatizing experience of caressing and watching death approach. HOWEVER cheaters ruin the experience for everyone playing the game to play. All the cheat stuff used makes me wonder why they do it because they obviously don’t care about the game and getting ahead doesn’t count cause they cheated and did not do it according to rules and game etiquette. Good sportmanship is expected for most if not all games.

And bottom line cheaters could be very intelligent however they show they have no integrity. A persons integrity defined who they are and what kind of person they are.

Falsifying location is bound to be inaccurate considering how grossly glitchy GPS is right now. They managed to make GPS work well enough in Ingress, why is PoGo worse?

This should be amusing. They put certain pokemon on different continents, screw the vast majority of players who aren’t in a major city out of a majority of the list, and can’t get a working search system in place. But the people who are changing locations? Those are the bad guys.
