According to the HyperPoke and GameNGuide, Gen 2 Pokemon, and baby Pokemon, will be available in a few months. Of course, this hasn’t been confirmed but if the rumors are to be believed, we’ll get new Pokemon in March 2017. Along with the release of Gen 2, there is talk of Legendary Birds appearing in the game as well.

According to GameNGuide:

The known Legendary Birds – Articuno, Zapdos and Moltres – are Pokemon that cannot be caught even in the wild so most trainers have not seen them until now. Niantic team hinted that they are preparing for an event that would allow “Pokemon GO” gamers to catch the elusive Legendary Birds.

Along with the release of the Legendary Birds, there will be new evolutions for your Gen 1 Pokemon. GameNGuide reports:

Gen 1 Pocket Monsters are getting an evolution once “Pokemon Go” Gen 2 is launched. The report mentioned Golbat – Crobat, Gloom – Bellossom, Poliwhirl – Politoed, Slowpoke – Slowking, Onix – Steelix, Hitmontop, Chansey – Blissey, Seadra – Kingdra, Scyther – Scizor, Evee – Espeon/Umbreon and Poygon – Porygon 2 as list of Pokemon that will evolve in Gen 2.

Make sure that you’re stocking up on those candies so you can get all of the Gen 2 evolutions!
