After you reach level 20, it becomes harder and harder to level up and it’s near impossible to get past level 30 without learning some tricks. Jimmie Pitts is a level 39 player who answered some questions in an interview with Pokémon Go Hub.
According to Pitts, who may very well be the highest ranking player in the world, to reach level 39, you have to spend a lot of time playing the game. He says he spends at least 10 hours a day playing:
“I minimized my sleep schedule to 4 hours a night max. I work from 08:00 – 11:00 AM everyday, grind from 12:00 – 19:00 PM, then go back to work 19:30 – 22:00, and then back to grinding again from 22:30 – 04:00. I shoot for 10 hours per work day, and 15 hours per day on weekends.
Honestly, I just put in a lot of hours and focus. I could probably level faster by walking and hatching eggs, but I have very weak feet and can’t walk for long periods at all.”
I, for one, would not recommend anyone to sleep only 4 hours a night for any reason, but if you want to be the very best trainer out there, you may have sacrifice a few naps.
Pitts says he isn’t worried about completing his Pokedex. He’s only concerned with leveling up at this point but he tries to catch the Pokemon he liked as a kid. He goes on to say that he plays with a group of about 20 hardcore players which is why he buys lures instead of incense to share the Pokemon:
“As the game becomes more hardcore, we have to acknowledge the fact that we need to work as a team to keep the Lures alive and the experience flowing for everyone.”
Now here’s the part you might like to hear if you’re trying to be the very best trainer. Pitts revealed how much he has spent in the game in order to reach his high level:
“I spend like 80 dollars per week. I think I’ve spent around 700 dollars on the game so far. Everyone seems to mind that question, but I spent over 3-4 grand through all the years I’ve played MapleStory – spending money on games isn’t new to me…Money is money, I enjoy spending it on the game. I buy Lures, Lucky Eggs and Incubators.”
80 dollars a week! That might be just a little too much for your average player but maybe not for more competitive players. Personally, that’s a little too rich for my blood.
There you have it, all the tips you need to reach level 39. Good luck!
